Description
In a FanFiction crossover of "Pokémon X RWBY," Lie Ren is a Gym Leader specializing in Fighting-types. His village is in shambles since he was a child, Ren has vowed to dedicate his life to helping the people of his village anyway he can. He opened a gym in the village to attract more business and give himself a reason to stay in the village at all times. Despite his claims otherwise, his relentless work ethic is physically affecting him as he doesn't give himself enough rest, and has strained with relationship with Nora since Ren will hardly leave the village for long periods of time.

Losing his parents in a mining accident, Ren grew up in an orphanage and was raised by the village elders. Seeing other kids like Nora feeling scared and depressed, Ren remained strong in order to help them cope with the loss. Ren attended a Pokémon academy and earned his gym leader certification. In order to help the village, he decided to have a gym built on Gren Isle to attract tourists ad bring in money to fund village expenses.

Ren is so driven in helping the village that he volunteers to do nearly all the work that needs to be done. This results in him working around the clock and getting little rest, physically and mentally draining him. He knows that Nora hates seeing him like this, but continues to work hard anyway for the benefit of the people that need him.

His strategy is to keep fighting as long as he can by combining the skills of his Fighting-type Pokémon, and having Hitmonlee last as long he can before unleashing his best attacks. In "Mega-ventures of Remnant," he also has a Mega Gallade to fight for not only his village, but also his perseverance of Fighting-type Pokémon and their skills.

In "Mega-Ventures of Remnant," he uses Mienfoo (later evolves into Mienshao at later chapters), Medicham, Hitmonlee, and Mega Gallade. As a Marquis in post-story, he also uses Mega Medicham, Mienshao, Poliwrath, Breloom, Hitmonlee, and Mega Gallade. He also has a Hawlucha capable of flight.

His signature Key Stone of choice is "Mega Band."
