Dang this was close. I almost didn't manage to make it in time lol.

This was for DamaiMikaz 's annual improvement contest

I focused on working on the lighting for the character since I didn't do so before. I added some rim light to the character to make it easier to see with all the darker colours. I also changed up the composition and focal points since I wanted to see what else I could've done differently. I also learned a lot of anatomy after working the one from 2016. While I still haven't gotten the hang of it yet, I see that i've improved significantly in under a year. I got the hang of adding stars and nebulae to my work and added in textures to help enhance the artwork. The use of textures is to make the painting seem like its made traditionally when in reality it isn't. Its something that I still need work on as I want to emulate watercolours on digital software.

There are some things that I want to go back on improving. One of which is the bike which isn't really visible in the painting unless you zoom in. I'm probably gonna draw a ton of bikes at different angles afterwards (lol). Another is shading figures even though it's dark enough for the shade to be difficult to be seen. This was my first figure that I shaded even though it was in a darker light source. Although I did make the light source bright enough to create a rim light I still believe that I need to continue working on this. A study of colours in different light sources might help.

I think i'm gonna go over this again after the challenge since I want to fix somethings that I rushed here and there.
