I'm only as good as my reference material
... photos from movies and photos of Collectable statues
they already have the poses, colours, proportions and light and shading !!!
and all I do is outline and fill
... turningΒ a photoΒ into a painting !!!

it's not "CHEATING" !
It's a legitimate technique called "Photo Illustration"
I went to art school way back in the 70's
... like I said, ... "I'M AN OLD FART !!!"
way before deck-top-publishing
we did things ole' school back then !
We would photograph our subject, develop the photos ourselves, but not fix them in a permanent fixative !!!
then we would illustrate on top ofΒ the photo, ... then bleach the photo out !!!
leaving you with an illustration that was perfect in proportion and lighting !!!
today I use the same technique with photos from movies or photos of the collectible statues and sculptures !!!
... same thing, only different
takes me 1 to 2 days to complete one image !

So I saw! You draw so well! I'm just a kid that took up drawing because my friend was so good at it. I don't think my drawings are fabulous or anything... Just satisfactory.

the more you practice the better you get
I'm old now, and have been doing this all my life
I got 9 brothers and sisters and they can all do this too
... same goes for my grandparents and parents
my Dad always told me it was a gift from the "Creator" and not to waste it, so that's why I went into art !
my grandmother told me not to go into art because it's a hard life
I didn't listen to her, and I'm doing pretty good
she, and my family, were all crafts people who owned a Basket Shop on an Indian Reservation in Nova Scotia Canada !
my youngest brother still owns a basketshop on the side of the highway
that's where my son Kyle works, ... he's 21, he is young and has skills too
