Hi! I had some questions about Kaida's while working on this babe's story!
The shrines, do they have to be built FOR them, like to worship them? Or can they be born from any shrine built?
And expanding on that can they be born from shrines made to worship other Deities and serve said deities and protect their shrines? ;'o
ANNND, undecided yet, but if I decide to, may I change his eye color? (Again, undecided on this), or is the eye color part of the rarity scale for this species (in which case I will leave it alone!)?
And finally, can this species transform into other forms? I was thinking of giving him the power to turn into a dragon-like form (while still retaining the fluff to have the mix of the fox in it) if very angry. But unsure if that would fit within the range of their magical abilities?
Sorry for so many questions! I adore this child and want to give him a very detailed story, BUT, I don't want to break any of the species rules of this lovely species<3

they are born with the shine as a guardian/protector
mhmmm they arent necessarily a god unless something happened to there shine deitie
i kinda see them as a living shrine in a way lollzz a weapon to keep things pure and tranquil

Kinda like being born to serve it because they're born from a shrine MADE for a god/goddess or something? owo
They way you say it makes it sound like this is possible, since they're like the spirit of the shrine/building ITSELF. owo
And uhh, what about the possible eye thing or the dragon-form magic thing ahaha.

yeah they can serve the shrines god and protect him/her
their job is to keep the shrines land purified and that means keeping the god happy too
welll the shrines are build by people. from the very first blessing at the new shine it creates the kaida
or you could say a kaida is a blessing gift to the new shrine and god
every shrine has a kaida... even if there is no active god. as long as the shrine is in good health they will stay and protect for a life time
for the magic stuff they can use fire fox and stuff like normal fox/dragon yokai can use
the eyes can change from fox to dragon eyes. but its super rare for kaidas to take damage and get hurt... can happen tho
if a big hoard is attacking the shrine or something or no one is worshiping at the shrine anymore. the scleras will turn black one at a time.
if both eyes are black they lose their sanity and become destructive. hopefully the shrine god or fellow shrine kaidas will help and purify him

And ohh! Yeah I just meant color of the eyes, I was gunna leave the design of the eyes alone.
But ohh! That is so handy to learn about the sanity and black sclera thing though! And how they can be purified.
Ohhhh man I am even more inspired for a super in depth story.
