Ya, but if you drew , and said the same thing about Obam you'd be toast now. LOL
In my humble opinion the "chimp" cartoon in the NY Post wasn't meant to offend blacks,or Obama but his administration.
I think (because i can't read the cartoonists minds) his intention was to point out that a chimp wrote the "stealitusfrom" bill, and now who's going to write the next one and nothing more (that's what i saw).
If the monkey comparison ( a weak one) with obama is what your looking for then it must be a fact, because that what people want to see, right?
I do editorial cartoons for papers and timing is everything, if the timing is one second off the piece is toast.
The piece says to me(and many others) that now that the dumb chimp is dead who will write the next bill and nothing more.
just my thoughts.

Thanks for the great comment! Looks like I first posted this almost exactly 4 years ago, and we all know how much can change in that amount of time. I agree about the Post cartoon, which kinda reminds me of the New Yorker cover kerfuffle a few months back- touchy subjects.
Editorial/Political cartoons can be enjoyable no matter what the issue is, as long as one keeps a sense of humor.
