Atlas Jynx had spent most of his life with his father. Someone who wasn’t to happy with his arrival. He was the result of a one night stand with Bori, which left a pretty bad mark on Atlas. His father was pretty much indifferent to his existence, only stopping by every so often to say hi to Bori. Bori did her best to teach him all there was about the world he was going to grow up in. Only for her to soon realize that he may be better off with actual ponies. So she sent him off to stay with twilight and study under her.

Atlas was always fond of crystal ponies so he had a field day with Amethyst when he saw her. After a rather awkward first encounter with Amethyst the two actually became good friends. Atlas was the only Amethyst would go to when she needed emotional support or even just someone to watch shows with.
