holy SHIT do I love drawing pirates!!! this might be the most fun I've had drawing ninjago fanart yet??? aaaaaa!!!!originally this was. just going to be a drawing of the ninja as pirates, no Secret Lore or whatever behind it.
but then...... it's NEVER that simple. I've made a whole au. I'm a mess

Well, all of the Ninja are each individual captains of their own crews and not all of them know each other. Kai doesnβt have a crew, only Nya as his quartermaster. Kai is one of the most infamous pirate thieves across the seas with Nya being pretty much the same. Both have very high bounties on their heads and keep their own wanted posters for fun, along with him and Jay have a very bitter rivalry thatβs been there for a few years. Cole is the most feared pirate across the seas (literally everyone says that meeting him will be your funeral day) and is working alongside Zane to hunt down Kai to make Kai pay a debt back to Cole. Cole wears an eyepatch after his eye was scarred as a lesson at a younger age (Jay doesnβt have the eyepatch because heβll get it in the events equal to season 6) Jay himself doesnβt know how he got to become a captain be he rolls with it. He has a peg leg after a shark attack about a year and a half ago. These are in the events equal to the pilot season so thereβs no Lloyd.
Okay that wasnβt a small idea but it gets much bigger from that and Iβd probably bore you to death talking about it.
