interesting piece. what's it all about alfie? and who did what and how long and what was the process and are you satisfied with the results?

gnaime pretty much hit the ball outta the ballpark. The thing I want to add to that we never felt a sense of rush to finish this collaborating piece. We basically just took the stress-free approach.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this as well. As gnaime mentioned, I would've never accomplished this without his effort or vice versa.

It's hard to describe who did what without completely getting off track of the concept and the process as a whole. I think we each had about 3 cracks at it, ~eason97 being the first with the initial step of providing photos and some design elements and myself having the last step before we called it complete. For example, he made the bird and I made the butterfly...he made the diagonal stripes and I expanded to the right of them. Overall we took about 3 weeks or so, because we were in no rush and I was sick for a week in there.
As for being satisfied: Yes I am really pleased with what we came up with. I would have never been able to produce the piece alone and vise versa. Our two clashing styles really surprised me. I would send him a step and it would come back completely different. Which was a challenge, but it made for a great feeling of accomplishment after I finished and sent it back. It's like we kept going "hmm nah this is what I want it to look like" until we both agreed that it was done.
After we completed it I sat with it on my screen in front of me and came up with the theory that it is about what happens after a person dies. Like a summary of the welcome you receive in the "Afterlife". Of course, it might mean something completely different to eason and every other viewer. This also gives way to the fact that we didn't have a concept during our process. We just winged it. Good times.

cool. art tag stuff can be fun. a few years back =iamabee and i went back and forth for about 8 months - it was more about transforming the previous incarnation though. and about process and many many results more than a singular agreed upon end result. what is similar though is the winging it part. no other way to fly.

cool beans. very pretty, but i'd lose the butterflies. they're too recognizable.
