You're 18. So you're perception of what a "lil kid" is -- most definately fits the part for the person I want appreciating my piece of design. Thanks.

I can tell there've been some changes in your work since I last came to this site; some developments and some subtle shifts.. but I'd still recognise your style anywhere. I love all of the intricacies in this image.

I'm flattered you used me in one of your magnificent works of art. (HAR)

But honestly, I think this is one of my favorites from you. The swirly lines are nice, and that blotch of Super NES-glitch type static is way keen... not to mention the vibrator attacking his arm (or plaque-defender, whichever it is). Bravo!

It's a damned relief that something of mine sparks your interest.

Thanks. And...it's a plaque-offender. (theme music)

I guess we're getting back into DA a little. You should drop us a line.

Naturally, I hold your opinions at a higher level than those random compliments I recieve every now and then. So this is greatly appreciated. Hopefully I can get my computer over to my new apartment soon, and finally start designing again. I miss it so...

seeing the zig zag edges of the paper make this gold.

and i wouldnt even say your work resembles drahomira's.
his may consist of collage (and not even all the time).
but so do many other artists. [and, any one of us, who has made a collage,
could be compared to picasso, or max ernst, or hannah hoch, or any dada artist......]

and let me mention, that side by side,
i could pick out a nick gnaime piece,
for you have a very discernable style to your work.

and that, my dear friend, is what i love about your art.

Thanks so much mina. I've never heard it put quite like that before. I'm quite lucky to have commentators such as yourself.

On a side note...don't you sometimes feel like you need something more than just deviantART? It's great...but there's sometimes no feeling of existing as a "talented" person. There's just so many people that don't take it seriously here, y'know?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitest-ray-of-light In reply to gnaime [2004-11-28 06:49:32 +0000 UTC]

as i am lucky to have you on deviantART as well, nick.

but i really do know what you mean. i have been considering renting some space, in order to start my own gallery. i think it is a direction i have been headed for a long time, and i really want to push art in my community.

it's true; many people dont take certain aspects of art as seriously as i might, but then again, this forum is for everybody. i can see on your site, the way in which you handle your journal, so that you push new artists or art that interests you. this is a propagation
of art because of you.... and let's not forget your art as well. i guess i am in complete accordance with you, and wanted to express my frustrations and my delights from being on this site. a plus side is, of course, that i met you. perhaps another forum would better suite specific needs, but for right now, i am more than happy to view your artwork on deviantART.

The "two part" commentary on the composition made me re-evaluate (AKA: stare at) it again. Really creative way of putting it perhaps. Thank you.

eLove In reply to gnaime [2004-11-17 01:29:42 +0000 UTC]

well it seems like the upper part is almost a different style.
then the bottom has that great goat-guy.
i think because i have to scroll up and down to see all of it in fullview that it really separates the upper portion from the bottom portion.
i dig it.

Looking good.. I can imagine some people would accuse you of copying drahomira's style. It's that typical combination of fictional description with the collage that makes this so interesting.

Nice going

I don't think I have to tell you that you shouldn't do so. It's a pity people tend to compare work like this to that of drah's, and forget that you've got a mind of your own. Personally I think that is something most artists get to deal with, since the 'bigger' artists set the 'standard'.

Unfortunately.
