Description So, I thought it would be fun to share a little from my artists at home. These are a few pieces from my youngest daughter! At the top, some characters she created.

Do any of you have kids who want to be artists?

Aw, they're so cute! They remind me of when I was young creating my own characters for the first time ^^ Lovely

I remember doing that a lot, too! Though, I think you both were probably more creative with that than me! All mine were just normal people.

Katie thanks you!

She does! She makes pages and pages of character designs. At least I know where to get inspiration when I need it!

Katie says, "thank you!!"

Some great art! Always fun to create characters, and being able to turn small seems like it could be an interesting ability. I particularly like the cat at the window, gazing out as cats do - contemplating the meaning of life

Ah, yes. Cats contemplate life regularly. I wonder what about it they contemplate... hmmm. Mine must think of what they can knock off the shelf or counter next or... what time of the night they should come wake me up. Haha!

Katie was so happy to read your comment! She gives you a big, "Thank you!"

That's weird because every cat I've ever had has been really careful about going around objects, our old lady cat Candy, when she walked along shelves or dressers with breakables on, she'd go reaaallly carefully, it was sort of funny to watch because she wasn't a little cat, she was quite hefty (as in, more like the size you'd expect a tomcat to be)
Then there's my rabbit Bear...who throws things around with careless abandon, and perhaps malicious spite (then he nose bonks your bottom if you're kneeling (cleaning his cage) - it's pretty insulting lol - as in rabbit language it means 'get out of my way - large one' *bonk bonk bonk*)

Katie is most welcome

Haha! Well, they are really careful when they go around things they aren't trying to knock off. But, my cats have a devious side (especially my one cat, Jade). They like to knock things off on purpose, while looking straight at you. Like a challenge. "What are you going to do about it, human?" My favorite is when they start knocking things off my nightstand in the middle of the night.

Aw! Candy! Two of my three cats are on the hefty side. They are the nicer ones. I had a cat growing up that I named Cotton Candy. It was a boy. Poor guy. He was a flame point siamese and was the sweetest cat, to people. But, he loved to fight the other toms in the area.Β

Haha! So rabbits can be malicious, too! Bear sounds fun! How old is bear now? This is the rabbit you have had for awhile isn't it? I have often thought about getting one. A friend of mine sells really fluffy ones.Β

Aw we always kept ours closed in their own room at night, just so they didn't get into things they shouldn't without anyone seeing, so we never had them knocking things over - but yeah Candy would open bedroom doors once she was released in the morning, and would wake everyone up if they slept too long (according to her). I think she was afraid to be abandoned because we actually got her 'second hand' as you'd say, and we could only imagine that her life before probably wasn't so great, but every morning she had to do the rounds saying hello to everyone, or waiting at the bottom of the stairs for everyone to come down, then she'd be happy to roast in the sun in her basket all day - and then when we came back from school she'd be sitting at the top of the steps waiting for everyone to come in before she'd return to her old lady bed (also if we mewed really high pitched, she'd come running, thinking there were kittens in need of assistance - it was sort of sad to think about really)

Lol my friend has a cat called Felix...she's a girl (they thought it was a boy - though I don't know how...), I don't have the heart to tell her that the female version of that name is Felicia and she could just change it to that.
Cotton Candy was a champion - boasting a fearsome name and all. he had the element of surprise with a misnomer like that one, it's the perfect crime boss name actually! Mr Candy - ohmygosh, it's perfect.

They have attitude that's for sure, Bear isn't what you'd call 'loveable' - in that you can't hold him and sit him on your lap, and he won't come over seeking affection - unless in his hutch, then he likes being pampered with massages (the king) - but he's so funny though, and does the stupidest things (alas he is not the smartest creature and once barricaded himself up the top of his hutch and couldn't get down, after somehow managing to flip this log-mat to block the ramp going down...then he just sat there looking guilty and waiting for someone to come rescue him).Β  Bear is 6.
Rabbits are great pets but they're a lot more work than I initially thought (before having Hoshi, the rabbit before Bear) - and you need to have a vet who specialises in treating them, as they're considered 'exotics'.Β  Who knew right?

Gnewi In reply to Sleyf [2018-04-05 10:17:26 +0000 UTC]

Candy sounds sweet! It is kind of sad with the mewing. I wonder, did she ever have kittens before you got her? I do think their past situation does influence them a lot. We have one cat that we found as a young cat/kitten. She was nearly starved to death and she ended up with pneumonia. To this day she will eat herself sick if we leave food out. I think she always has that fear she won't get any more.

Haha! Yes! That's too funny! I had always thought that he was somewhat like the guy in the song "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash. You have to be tough with a name like that! But, now I am thinking you may be right. The perfect element of surprise. Who would guess the fearsome creature that lay beneath the name of Cotton Candy. Haha! Mr. Candy! I love it! We actually had a doctor arrest near us, who apparently was handing out a lot of narcotic medicine. They called him The Candyman.

Really? I would never have realized they would be considered exotics. But, I suppose, it isn't as common of a pet. Interesting. Haha! Bear sounds entertaining! I suppose they are a lot of work. Require a lot of attention? We had rabbits growing up, and I remember that we had to have them out all the time. It was like if we didn't take them out for a day or two they would go back to being afraid of us, or want to bite. It could be the type of rabbits we had. I don't know. We were pretty young, so maybe it was us! I suppose we probably weren't quite as gentle as the older members of our family.

Lol! Aw... well, she wants to be a good pirate, so that's okay. Right, Daddio? Haha! Well, I think your sons are probably at the age where they would like to eat for a living. At least that was what my son's motivations were at that point in time!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SlyFlySpyGuy In reply to Gnewi [2018-03-30 00:23:43 +0000 UTC]

It is okay with me. In fact, I've considered joining her as a pirate many times.

Dapper Daddio was one of my work nicknames. I gathered nicknames really quickly...lol...Slayer, was another.

My sons are at the age where momma is the focus of Shepherd's attention, and I seem to be the center of Charles' attention. If I ask them about what they want to be when they grow up, I will probably get tears from Shepherd, and 'goo goo' from Charles. Haha

Also, thank you for the favorites!
