I love the curls in her hair.

AND THOSE CALVES!
Well, the one exposed one anyway.

Been thinking of incorporating the rubber hose joints to Millie. This gets me into the mood to draw that.

Very nice. Hard to not think of the wolf howling scene.

She's not bad, she was drawn this way.

Oh wait, she can be kinda bad sometimes.

You did an excellent job with this art, Gnome, thank you so much!

Thanks, my friend. She's always fun to do. I almost forgot her glasses! What a crime that would have been.

So far of the collection, this is my favorite.

I'm really enjoying that curly-q style for hair and fur. It's working out well. Dunno if it's actually toony; a little more like a Gendy Tartakovsky look.

**Giggles!**

It sure looks like you did enjoy the process, which is good too.  Over the years, I have gotten a lot of books that "teach" the various techniques to create cartoon characters.  From what I have seen, "cartoon" is best done with highly stylized designs.  When I was in class back at SCAD, it was funny to listen to how the professors used to mention and call manga or anime being a "cartoony style" ... and the younger kids freak out and correct them.  "It's like a religion," I commented during one class to a gal-pal of mine to which she just giggled.  "You ought to have some of the classes that I have."  Nevertheless, it was fun to learn some of the various techniques ... using shapes, scribbling, or even just freehand designing without any conscious thought.

Anime comes right out of this style, though. I mean, all cartoon styles owe their roots places, Anime has a lot of DNA in these old rubber-hose style pieces.

You are preaching to the choir here, honey.  I showed this professor Astroboy's first episode and then asked, "Does any of this look similar to Betty Boop, Popeye, or even Mickey Mouse?"  He watched it for a while and then agreed.  Then I let him borrow "Akira" for something a little intense.  He was blown away.  While he still said that it's all cartoony, both East and Western Arts are worth checking out.

I had an art teacher in high school who thought comics were low art. He changed his mind, too. Can't imagine why, though -- my comics in highschool were hot garbage.

Actually, I was popular because I could draw AND write pretty damn well.  I also was hated for getting the "End of the Semester" projects done within the first week and with a great memory.
