Description
I made a parasitic wasp Pokemon!
Caterwail (bug/dark)evolves into Visp (bug/dark) which, if female, can evolve into Hymatrontera (bug/dragon).
Caterwail has different forms in different regions, dependent on what type of caterpillar-type pokemon are available. These include scatterwail and wurwail. In the wild caterwails can be difficult to spot amongst the caterpie they 'camouflage' themselves as, but a few meaty treats will soon sort the carnivorous caterwail from the leaf-loving caterpies.
Visp are a fast and hard striking pokemon, preferring hit and run tactics over prolonged combat. Breeding these pokemon is not for the faint of heart; if a male and female visp are left alone then no eggs will 'mysteriously appear', but if that female visp is then left alone with your beloved caterpie then that caterpie will soon 'evolve' into a carterwail. More than one irresponsible trainer has been left in shock when their previously beloved caterpie turned out to have more legs and bite then remembered.
While female Visp are usually solitary, the evolved wild Hymatrontera are known to surround themselves with a harem of Visp. The huge powerful female, colloquially known as the queen of wasps, is highly aggressive and territorial towards other large pokemon. Ironically this makes the areas she inhabits surprisingly safe, so long as one manages to avoid the queen herself. Small bugs such as caterpie and combee become especially common as the Hymatrontera favours these pokemon for their use for her children and for their sweet honey respectively. They love honey so much that they have even been known to hunt for and abduct young Vespiquen, like a dragon stealing a princess, in the hopes that she will start a hive in the Hymatrontera's territory.
