Their detour had brought them to a black land, charred and twisted. Listening closely, the breeze blowing through the ash and grass hissed like fire. It was watched by a sentinel, a solitary soldier standing strong and triumphant amidst its fallen brothers. The tree awakened a memory, as dark and sad as the shadows falling over the wasteland. But the tiny lives its guarded, hanging from its branches and resting in the embrace of its roots, let her heart rest.

Wanted to try my hand at the Nature Day event. I like to think there's beauty in all kinds of nature, so this image came about. I'll never be satisfied with it, though ;W;
