Felana regards the City as a safe haven, a saving grace of which she occasionally feels unworthy, but incredibly grateful to be a part of nonetheless.

Sybal Form: The Skipper
The Skipper is a small humanoid creature, around 4 feet tall. She is a blend between amphibian and mammal, most notably the lemur. Her facial features are mostly human, though her sensitive nose and ears allow her heightened senses of smell and hearing. While she does possess some fur, most notably on her head, down her spine, and at the tip of her long tail, she is mostly covered in smooth, slightly damp skin. She needs to keep herself damp, otherwise her skin will start to dry out. Gills located on her abdomen allow her to breathe underwater, and her strong webbed limbs are good for jumping and swimming- often it looks like she’s skipping around on the water or among trees, thus the nickname. The “beads” hanging from her neck are not actually hung by a string, rather they appear to stick together, and keep to Felana’s neck by an invisible force until she pulls one of them off.

Sybal Power: Ranomasina Miboboika - “Sea Bubbles”
The beads of the Skipper’s necklace are not actually beads at all- rather they are very solid membranes. When blown into, these membranes expand into bubbles, up to four feet in diameter. These bubbles are airtight and durable, though can be dissipated if enough force is applied to crush or puncture them. (Like a very strong, stretchy plastic.) These bubbles can enclose objects if they are formed around them. They aren’t extremely buoyant in the air, hovering just above the ground on their own, but they do float in water. The larger the bubble, the less buoyant it becomes.
The Skipper has a very limited amount of these bubbles available to her- the amount on her necklace is her only supply for the night, and she cannot make more.

Docile or Feral: Docile
Felana retains all of her personality in the nighttime. She is, however, drawn to spend her time near the edge of water, and can often be found along the Uferlos.

Personality: Cheerful and friendly, Felana is generally a very pleasant person. Conditioned as a traditional Bara woman, Felana attempts to keep an air of dignity and poise about her, and is usually successful...unless you can make her laugh- once she starts, Felana has a terrible time stopping. She’s still a bit of a teenager, prone to vanity and self-consciousness and worrying about looking all grown up. She’s a hard worker, and dedicated to her job..though, being quite the bibliophile, she can often find herself distracted when a particular book catches her eye. (Or the occasional boy- she’s a bit of a romantic, though she’s found she has much more patience for books.)

History:
Hailing from the Vinda, the southwestern band of the Bara tribe, Felana had a fairly typical life. Her family was large- three wives and five children- and they were well-off, with quite the sizeable herd and wide fields for farming. Her village was no stranger to war, and often fought with other villages and the surrounding tribes. Being fearsome warriors, they were never defenseless.
The introduction of firearms, however, changed things.
Provided by traders, an enemy group armed themselves and attacked Felana’s unprepared village, killing most men and taking women and children. As their family was slain and home destroyed, Felana’s older sister was able to keep their attackers’ attention long enough for Felana to run. With a yearning for escape and safety, Felana called the Forest to her, and entered Sybal Heim as she fled.
Within the City, Felana found greater opportunity than she could ever have imagined, particularly for learning. It didn’t take her long to find her place in the world- she wanted to learn as much as she could, and a library was the perfect place to do it in. (In fact, it was Tahiry who happened to point her in that direction, having met him by chance as a newcomer when she found herself lost.) She now spends most days organizing books, doing paperwork, and reading on the job, though she occasionally finds herself entangled with Tahiry’s...shenanigans as his unofficial personal librarian. (Or book mule, as she so delicately puts it.) She doesn’t seem to mind the excitement too much, though.

Additional Info:

Often unwittingly finds herself as Tahiry’s secretary and, until recently, the test subject for many come-ons. He exhausts her.
Despite his shenanigans, Felana actually regards Tahiry as sort of a crazy uncle/older brother figure...depending on the day.
