Realize this.
Szayel has been stabbed, but his body is still there. When an Arrancar/Espada dies, they dissapate into the air, as shown by Zommari and Ulquiorra. Since Szayel didn't dissapate, he is still alive.
He's just down for the count for the next 100 years. Don't worry, the drug will go away eventually.

Oh believe me, I have thought about SO many different things regarding what happened to him, and if he were to come back, I would be more then ecstaic. I know for fact I would cry in sheer happiness at seeing someone I love so much still alive and well.
I just wish he didn't suffer...
