Description
Traveling across a fractured land is not a particularly easy task, the world having been split into numerous plates that were then shoved either up or down, creating a landscape riddled with steep slopes and cliffs. Roads zig-zag through the haphazard terrain to link cities and larger towns, but for somebody like Serin who lives outside of society, she’s often better served taking more direct routes through rough terrain. Well, better served if one ignores the whole ordeal of climbing the divides and pushing through the brush beneath the unrelenting sun, all with the heavy burden of her pregnancy. An uninhabited region turns out to have been formerly inhabited, a ruined mansion serving as welcome shelter from the heat.

I threw together this drawing as a way to take a break from my current detailed shading WIP, though I ended up taking this further than planned with an actual story and setting rather than just random Serin lounging. That meant drawing a background and something resembling shading, which basically doubled the time spent on this, whoops. It's good to try some lighting besides my default "standing under a clear sunny sky" though. That and giving Serin more drawings, since she tends to lag behind the others. (Excluding Anaesi, who's stuck with being the least mobile character ever and thus limited in what I can draw without getting too far into her story.)
