The young rebel meets the old rebel. They see the power of the authoritarian, see how frightening it is, and still say it's worth fighting back.
Nemik is the more optimistic who believes in the good in those who fight against tyranny and joined a heist to hurt the Empire. Sadly he died in the effort. But his manifesto did serve as an inspiration to Cassian Andor, a man who would help steal the Death Star plans and allow for a blow that was the beginning of the end for the Empire.
Wordsworth was initially just a librarian who believed in free speech, which sadly led to his execution at the hands of the State.
Even seeing his impending death, Wordsworth refused to yield to the power of the State and thanks to the arrogance of the Chancellor, Wordsworth made of a fool of the man who was supposed to be a symbol of the State's power. For the Chancellor showing his weakness, the State executed him. The hint is that Wordsworth ensured the State died with him.
So what if Wordsworth met Nemik before the heist?
What if, due to the Twilight Zone rules, they met as ghosts? Nemik likely wouldn't think of the heist as a great victory since he died before even knowing if it succeeded and realized it was just another crack in the Empire's wall. Imagine if Wordsworth explained he set off a chain of events that would destroy the Death Star. How would he know that? Twilight Zone rules.
