The emotion in John's face is just incredible, you can feel his longing and his pain.

I admire your painting skills, but stamping smoke brushes over sherlock really doesn't make it look like he's part of a dream or whatever.
The effect isn't there, especially because a lot of the smoke is denser than the actual Sherlock bit.
Also.. I'm surprised that you managed to make a work of this caliber and still misspell "dream" twice in a row..Β
Not to be mean or anything, but it does destroy a bit of the "professionalism" that the art itself does convey.
Also, I notice Sherlock's face is far less detailed than John's. While this maybe have been justified by the fact that he is a "dream", etc., I would love to see a version in which both their faces are finished.

Oh my god, this is gorgeous. I'm sure this is true of like half the post-Reichenbach stories out there, but your drawing reminds me so much of the post-Reichenbach story I wrote. You should check it out!!

This is heartbreaking; truly heartbreaking.
The expressions, especially on John's VERY well drawn and realistic face, is what gives the picture it's feeling and emotion.
There are no words to describe how wonderful the smoky effect -- especially with John's hand through it, renders the total dream-like effect, and I'm SO glad there isn't more color to it. If it had been any brighter, even by shaded, then it wouldn't have been as effective a tool for getting across the proper emotion . . .

Very good capturing of the characters. I love that this barely includes colour, because the shading is fantastic. Smoke Sherlock is really nicely done.
