I no longer believe the snake to be a real snake. Some scholars believe it was a shining one. The Hebrew word for snake is nachash can also mean to shining. An angel like being that's snake like? Maybe? Read these articles gave me second harrisonwoodard.com/2014/03/th… and this www.echoesofenoch.com/grays.ht… is just beyond being strange. However non human sapient being makes more sense then a posses snake.
Also Adam and Eve probably being in the garden for a long time because God mention domesitcated animals and domesitcation takes thousands of years. You could say that God made them that way, but why not make them all tame? Also all animals start out wild. So if they been in the garden for that long. Eve should've know that something was wrong about a talking snake.

I believe that Satan most likely possessed a snake and made it speak. Similar to the Angel that made Balams donkey speak.
As it pertains to wild animals, I believe you are looking at a prefall world through the lens of a fallen world. Everything before the fall and sin was good or very good, and death did not enter the world until after sin. So animals had no reason to fear each other or humans. They were wild in the sense that the were free, but not hostile like current wild animals.
To the fact that eve should have known something was up because of a talking snake, I’m not so sure about that. Adam and Eve were two people in a vast world in which I’m sure they encountered new and fascinating things everyday. I mean God himself walked in the garden with them. Which certainly doesn’t happen today. I think they most likely lived with a sense of child like wonder, and just took things as they come.

That’s fine, but clearly the vast majority of scholars translates it serpent.
נָחָשׁ
nâchâsh
naw-khawsh'
From H5172; a snake (from its hiss): - serpent.
Now the “hiss” part is interesting from the Strongs number H5172 which is:
נָחַשׁ
nâchash
naw-khash'
A primitive root; properly to hiss, that is, whisper a (magic) spell; generally to prognosticate: - X certainly, divine, enchanter, (use) X enchantment, learn by experience, X indeed, diligently observe.
So was magic involved on part of the evil serpent? This would certainly explain Gods hate for it. But it’s clear from this scripture that that the Bible is talking about a creature or beast.
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

True, but notice the word "other" wasn't in there. Although some translation has the word "other" in it. The way I read it. I don't see a snake. Not even a posses one. I see a serpentine entity.

Here is a scripture from, Matthew 10:16 NKJV
[16] "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”
Some translate the word wise here as cunning or shrewd. This seems to harken back to Genesis 3. It seems to have been a common belief of Jewish people, even Jesus himself, that the characteristic of a serpent was wise/shrewd/or cunning. Which would be in line with the comment about the serpent in the garden.
It could possibly be fine to see a serpentine entity in this passage, but you may be reading or placing more into the text than is actually there. Especially with the surrounding context of scripture like comparing the serpent to “any beast of the field.” And seeing how people, including Jesus, viewed serpents as wise or cunning. Plus there are other words that could have been used here that denote other serpentine creatures like leviathan or dragon or lizard, but the word that is most often used for a serpent is used in Genesis 3. Although, the serpent talks, so in some way it’s no ordinary serpent.
Isaiah 27:1 actually has three of these types all together- (the H number things are the Stong’s concordance Hebrew numbers)
In that H1931 day H3117 the LORD H3068 with his sore H7186 and great H1419 and strong H2389 sword H2719 shall punish H6485 H5921 leviathan H3882 the piercing H1281 serpent, H5175 even leviathan H3882 that crooked H6129 serpent; H5175 and he shall slay H2026 ( H853 ) the dragon H8577 that H834 is in the sea. H3220
But it is clear from this scripture that leviathan is considered both a serpent and a dragon. So who knows? God I guess. But it is also clear from scripture that Satan is a dragon, which by this verse and others would also make him a serpent.

You know, I had never really watched or read One Piece until after I did this image, but I had seen a little OP ( like the first 2 episodes) before this was drawn. So maybe drawing it that way was subconscious, but I do remember thinking I didn't want to portray the fruit like the normal apple or like any fruit we usually see. I wanted something different from normal fruit because it wasn't a normal tree. But I can't deny it does look like a devil fruit.
