Description My entry for ’s Contest

Her character Faeren playing a melody for Jessy while she holds Snoots.

Explanation:

Faeren plays the forest’s song for Jessy as she rests in the shade of the Forest of Illusions. But since none other then he are allowed to walk in the forest without arising its anger, is she real, or simply an illusion he unconsciously conjured from his memories?
I personally think it is the latter, though he can draw no comfort from memories, his mortal self still exists, and with it, the wants and desires.



And what is Faeren without his loyal butterflies?

And that’s Morgan in the background, for the curious.

Wow, this is beautiful. I love hoe you incorporated him into the tree - the detail alone is GORGEOUS. It would be awesome to see it colored, but I think that the detail in this is complimented by the simplicity of B&W color.

One of your best yet.

This is an amazing drawing. There's so much detail in it! The characters, Jessie's dress, the trees, and the butterflies are beautiful, and Snoots is very cute.

Even though the contest is over, I hope you still shade or color it--it will look even more amazing I'm sure. Nice work!

Um, the whole week straight, pretty much. Its rather all I worked on. But I had the idea in my head for a long time, so. I was pretty certian what I wanted to put in.

Aw, this is lovely! So sweet and sad, and their poses are wonderful. Great job on Faeren; I love the way his cloak blends with the tree and drapes from the branches like moss. Jessy is beautiful, I haven't seen her depicted with Faeren in so long. And Snoots! Snoots is perfectly adorable. ^__^ Gorgeous details, the intricacy is amazing. So much to look at! Trees, plants, moss, mushrooms, vines, birds, fairies, butterflies....and Morgan sauntering off in the background...gah, this must have taken you so much time! o__O; I think it might work better as a lineart rather than shaded, simply because there are so many details. But either way, this is a fantastic interpretation of the theme, and I really appreciate all the work you put into this. Thank you so much for sharing your vision and participating in the contest, and I wish you the very best of luck!
