At a convention Chris Claremont was appearing. I asked him about the Avengers episode (Emma Peel's first season called Touch of Brimstone) it starred the Hellfire Club as a villan. Emma dressed as Queen of Sin. It was remarkable similar to Jean Grey's outfit as Black Queen.

He said it was based on the real Hellfire Club, but look at the episode, maybe if I have a chance to ask John Byrne about the design.
