Description This is real obscure Italian jungle girl comic book Pantera Bionda (Blonde Panther) she was published in Italy from 1948 to 1951. She ceased publishing due to pressure it is said from the Catholic Church. We all thought the Seduction of the Innocent was just an American Thing.

I think people were concerned about these things for some good reason. These things do have an effect to us, not to the level that kids would turned into homicidal lunatics. Everything does have an effect, Max Allen Collins, creator of Ms. Tree and writer of Dick Tracy, talked about Model Jones in the Chester Gould period. Junior Tracy was involved with Model Jones, whose drunken parents and criminal brother embarrassed her. She was accidentally shot by her brother as she tried to get him to surrender the police. She died in the comic and Max said he cried. Besides showing how well Chester Gould wrote and drew the series, it shows how these things can touch us. Even EC Comics had its great moments, about an astronaut in a space suit on a planet of robots where the orange skinned robots discrimanted against blue skinned robots even they use the same parts. The astronaut denies their petition to join the alliance till all of them equal. The astronaut blast and removes his helmet, we see that the astronaut is an African American. This was quite shocking for 1950's America. When it was reprinted the Comic Code Authority wanted it changed the race of the astronaut, the publisher rose such a stink that someone had a bout of common sense. I wish this only story like this, Stan Lee has a couple of fights with Comic Code Authority about anti drug stories.

I think Bill Gaines could be his worst enemy, his testimony did not help him. They brought his horror comic covers one with woman seemingly beheaded. He said it could have been worst we could have seen the bloody stump. I know that kids would turn evil, if this was not true, my friends would be chasing each other and dropping anvils, pianos, and safes on them. He did not help his cause by saying that he could worse things.

But they do effect on people, remember when the Fonz from Happy Days got his first library card. A lot of kids went out and got theirs, these things do have some effect on us.

I've seen the "Model Jones" and the E C Blue robot/ Orange Robot stories . I thought they were both well and and effectively made their points.
I did not know about this Jungle girl. Thank you for the education.
Nice outfit and effective bondage.
Great facial expression .
Well done.

I don't think she ever jumped over the pond to our shores.

I think we have enough jungle girls, so it is not one of the strips that are brought over. A real pity though she seemed interesting.

Never heard of the jungle girl, but I remember reading the Dick Tracy story. Good thoughts on the old "red scare" of comic books.

I mean both sides were right and wrong. Bill Gaines going in front of congress and saying, "Hey it could have been worst. EC Comics produced some of the best war comics, even killing characters that were not heros or villains just in the wrong place. Like a sailor who is locked in flooding compartment. They can't open the hatch and risk sinking the ship. The last page is the closed hatch with sound effects of the trapped sailor banging till it goes silent. Extremely effective.
