Description
A UCR Fire-Team out on a footpatrol, tracking insurgent movement through the jungles of the colony world Fonshu. The rest of the squad isn't too far off, and the rest of their platoon is nearby as well, getting ever closer to their target: an insurgent strongholdYes, the republic in fact wear bright blue "shoot here" on their magical helmets. I figured the republic would be as retarded as the UN in a sense with the whole "we're peacekeepers, but seriously, here's our bright fucking blue shoot here on our helmets" thing going on.
I guess it's not as bad as the british "lets wear bright red coats in a green grassy area, while fighting Guerilla rebel colonists/indians and stand in a line all bunched up just to make sure they can hit us" thing.
Anyway, done for my setting.
Usually i shout some slogan for the faction the image is for... but the UCR really doesnt have anything like that....sooo

And the point man is not farther out than the rest of the patrol, looking for trip lines and booby traps. Β They need to spread out a little more, and the 'tail-end Charlie' should be looking behind to watch for anyone sneaking up and what the back trail looks like should they return on this route.

I used the XM8 because I liked it. though this setting takes place bout 700+ years in the future, so I have to redo their weapons. Every other faction has newly designed stuff except the republic, so I need to remake theirs.
But the setting, there are many independent nations still using very old technology and equipment because they cannot afford any better

The mindset of the republic is "the public responds better to bright, shining armor, or bright colors, to let them know we're the good guys" Obviously, they're retarded. But I based them off of a modern US government, where everyone is 'hyper sensetive' and the leaders are incompetent, etc. so when the military tells them this is a bad idea, the politicians go "nonsense! this is a fantastic idea!"

We finally did in Medak (Yugoslavia) in the 90's but you never hear of it. Thankfully, our politicians stay away from military decisions for the most part. They're content to leave it at..."Go do Army Stuffs!". Getting some decent helicopters though...that's a problem. Oh, and subs that aren't diesel.
