An Elf.. a pistol... And a dead prince... It was the shot heard around the world....
It was the dawn of a new age. The industrialization of mankind that had started in the Eucadian empire had taken the nations by storm. Those nations holding onto the traditional ideology of the old world could not compete, and were consumed by the fires of the now expanding and newly formed technologically superior empires. Gunpowder replaced magic, now seen as an obsolete weapon, rarely used. The potency of the rifle was unmatched. It was adapt or fall victim to the hungering maw of these rising powers. So nations did what they had to, to survive: They industrialized.
Using the firearms and technology the empires had held over the rest of the world as a deterrent. It worked. And slowly, the Empires stopped their expansions, now contested by an equal technology.
Rifles replaced bows and crossbows, and schools of magic closed down, only few remained open teaching healing magics. Most nations were content in the end. And the world was at a fragile peace. The wood elves, or Woden Elves of the ancestral Woden homeland of Enevere were not content. Held firm in their traditional values, they opposed everything this new world stood for. They opposed the occupation of their lands by other nations and empires which took advantage of their refusal to adapt. They opposed the cutting down of their sacred forests for wood for rifles and cities. And eventually, they had enough. An extremist from one of the many woden clans had shot and killed the High Prince of the Golden Kingdom of the Avelon over the occupation of their sacred woods. Of their ancestral home. The response was swift. The Avelonian army torched the woods in response, and crossed into Enevere.
Through series of alliances, or similar ideology more nations would be consumed in this conflict, until the world burned.
The world split into the Alliance of Empires, and the Vineslian Pact

ESTAC: (Eucadian Salos, Theolor Army Corps)
An army formed from the indigenous species from the countries of Salos and Theolor. Before the races of the continent of Aethryion began their expeditions into the unknown regions of the world, the Kotor were the ruling species of the Continent of Theolor.
During the late years of exploration, the Eucadians, having been late to much of the land grab, decided to take a risky chance and send ships into the middle of the ocean to see if they could be as lucky as their counterpart nations Lagotia, and Nordskvar. One of the expeditions returned, having found a continent and many islands split off from any other landmass. Theolor and it's indigenous species, the Kotor were quickly conquered and assimilated into the Empire. The Island of Salos was a waypoint island between the mainland and the continent of Theolor. It was unpopulated when it was found, but the Eucadians quickly built ports and fortifications on their island, to add a stronghold of theirs inbetween the mainland nations and their new prize. Any nation that would want to take Theolor would have to go through the army stationed at Salos first. Most of the population of Salos is completely human, as most orcs prefer not to leave the mainland, and the elves prefer sticking to their ancestral homeland.
For the 200 years of their existence, the continent, islands, and island of Salos have sat firmly in Eucadian control. The Kotor, being assimilated, but often treated as second class citizens, have still followed the Empire loyally, hoping one day their loyalty will be rewarded with independence.
The ESTAC army, and the Kotor species have been known to steal whatever isn't nailed to the ground, making feuds with the Eucadian regular army commonplace whenever a Federal Brigaide lands ashore
Allegiance: Alliance of Empires
Population: Kotor, Human
Republic of Dakor:
Long ago, Dakor was a faithful vassal of the Dark Legions. Once it was destroyed and toppled, the people of the nation clung to their independence, seeing as when the Drow would surface again and they didn't care for old alliances, waging a war on the Dakor. Since then, the people of Dakor have wanted nothing to do with Drow Elves. The most recent surfacing of the Drow 400 years ago, the Dakor army sent their federal army in, armed with muskets, and managed to hold their ground. However, the Drow managed to establish a permanent colony on the surface. Since then the Dakor have watched as the Drow's colonies and territory have expanded.
When the war began, the Republic of Dakor announced neutrality, and had it's army mass on their border with the Drow's Empire. They didn't expect the Skandish to attack them from their weakened and undefended side. With the chaos of relocating their army, the Drow sent in theirs. Dakor's federal army, now in shambles and on the retreat, it announced it's allegiance to the Pact. Since then, Galbany has sent it's army north to take the brunt of the fighting, allowing the Republic of Dakor to rebuild it's army, and create a large portion of conscript soldiers.
Allegiance: Vineslian Pact
