Suspenseful setup, tho someone should really flick the light switch before they start operating.

Oh they'll have to call in a whole different department for that. The combat electricians will be fashionably late as usual

No. In the setting mankind has not discovered any alien threats or sentient species until just quite recently, and the discovery has not been made public yet to any other human factions. There are creatures out there that are highly dangerous, but mankind has either killed them off or learned to just straight up avoid them. The only real threat in terms of aliencreatures are those created by man themselves to kill each other in warfare.Β
One of the factions specifically prides themselves on the creation of different species. Dubbed by their neighbors as the 'Xenos Empire' which they eventually adopted as their title. Sometimes their creations break out and kill everyone though.

Operation overlord huh? Nice call back to the longest day. I wonder if this will end up as a space D-day? LOL

yeah lol. And no, unfortunately. Free colonies aren't usually as well defended or prepared for such attacks. especially if it's completely by surpriseΒ

I was wondering who would catch that! though, being over 700 years in the future, names often wind up getting recycled.Β
