Watched the speedlapse. It's kind of strange how similar in a lot of ways our work processes are. One thing I notice is that you work out your composition (colors & values) as you go along, and you do a lot of variations before you settle on something. I kind of have a similar habit, though I do lots of variations on different compositional elements later on, add different values/pop-out colors/things to the piece that were never in the original sketch and it takes me a while to settle and actually get to rendering. I'm also amazed at the substantial amount of details & cleanup you put in, I've never been very good at that.
The constant zooming & rotating is a bit crazy to watch haha. Especially since I put it to 2x speed... ^^
By the way. Your website link leads to a cute robot pic instead of the site.

I guess I mentioned it because it is kind of a problem for me at the moment. Sometimes I spend hours upon hours in order to fix or improve the composition if I'm stuck, and generally I do eventually figure it out, but it takes a very long time. Especially with more complicated pieces that have multiple characters, complicated backgrounds, etc. It gets really complicated really quickly. I'm trying to work on my thumbnails right now to hopefully get better tat this, as I'm quite fast at everything else apart from it...
Cleanup also tends to slow me down a lot. Weirdly the idea of leaving it in, but just spending the time on adding more details instead helps and often gives me a better result. Masks help a ton as well, but again when the pieces are complicated managing them feels like hell.
I think it's good. Maybe lowering the frame rate helps? I don't really know.
