Description
Prophecy tells of a day when darkness would engulf the land, but a light would shine to dispel it. Born with the Mark of Light, this young man was destined to defeat a great evil. However, fate had other plans for this poor soul as he lost his family and kingdom as a baby, and then was branded as one who heralds the coming of the Dark One. Just as Galeem and Dharkon have taught us, light and dark cannot exist without each other after all.

The Hero is the player character from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, the latest mainline game in the beloved Dragon Quest series. He is a continuation of the Erdrick story from the original Dragon Quest trilogy on the NES.

Hero is Fighter #72 and the second proper DLC character added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, revealed during the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct to coincide with the release of the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI. He is also the second character from a Square Enix property to be added to Super Smash Bros. after Cloud.
