Description
Many have been victims of experimentation with the cells of a fallen extra-terrestrial being to create the perfect soldier, but one stands above them all. The greatest of the soldiers once beloved as a savior, now chooses to be the world's ultimate destructor. Having discovered the truth of his origin, he wishes to reunite with the being he calls his mother. He is more powerful than any adversary seen thus far, being able to wipe out the Lord of Light with a single slash of his blade. He will never be a mere memory.

Sephiroth is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VII and the archnemesis of main character Cloud. He appears many times in other Final Fantasy VII-related media such as the true villain of the movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, as a super boss in Kingdom Hearts I & II, and the main villain of the Final Fantasy VII remake.

Sephiroth is Fighter #78 debuting in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the third character in the Fighter Pass Vol. 2 and the ninth DLC character overall. He was revealed at The Game Awards 2020 and was released later as the only DLC character who can be fought before unlocking them as part of the limited time Sephiroth Challenge.
