- For this piece, I decided to "grade" it, but instead give you the parts I like about the piece as well as some suggestions that I think will improve it. Please let me know if you would like me to rate it as well, and if you have any questions feel free to write!
Critique
- First off, I really like the background that you used. The contrast between the black and white (as you mentioned) is very pretty and works well for the subject. Your focus is very good here as well, and everything that should be in focus is.
- I do have a few suggestions to make this even better. First things first, the framing: the way you have it here, with the subject centered, is alright but I feel as though it is a little boring. This shot has been taken countless times before and with a site as big as this, you need something to make you stand out. Maybe try playing around with the angles and composition; try using Rule of Thirds (if you don't know what that is, take a look here- [link] ). Another idea is to try bringing a squirt bottle or something similar and spraying the flowers down before you shoot. That way, you get the increased interest factor of the water droplets, which give a really nice effect.
