This was the explanation I gave my brother when he saw this and gave me a mondo WTF expression:

So, Iroh can see spirits, right? And Kenpachi is sort of a spirit… and… I both like them… a lot… and… uh…

BUT ACTUALLY:

I just like Iroh. A lot. Seriously, if I could take home ONE character from Avatar home it would be his wonderful, wonderful, tea-loving kookiness. I don't think anyone can make me squeal with joy quite like him… except Kenpachi… I dunno. They're both totally different in size, shape, appearance and attitude, but I think they are both attractive because they stand at odds with the common characters of those surrounding them. And I love them for that.

And Yachiru love Zuko. He is funny and happy and she will call him Pancake-with-Strawberries Face.
