This is why... i dun CG very often.. as u can see... *worthless*well, i was thinking of something different other than my old shading within the lines but of course the result is decent...
ehhh sorry at least its better than just greyscale dull images i guess... O_o

Yeah I realize your char has been around for a while so I'm just now getting around to commenting on a pic of him. Super cool dude. He's one of the more uniquely designed fan chars I've seen, if not one of the cooler ones.

At least you can actually DRAW Sonic characters.
I have a difficult time with their bodies so I tend to draw a more anthro-istic version of them.
I mean, it's great and all, but I'm trying to tone it down..though the comic won't be toning anything down.
I also have a horrible habbit of dressing all my characters..
I need some serious help.
Any pointers?

I really like the vibrant colors you use for the characters, the irridescent glow sort've like electricity and the like. Both are phenominal characters and look great together.

Actually, the coloring is quite nice, and I'm especially fond of the coloring you got going on Sairius's hair. As far as coloring goes, I've really got no critique; you seem to have a lot of the anatomical details nailed down with shading and highlighting. If I was to say anything about the coloring at all, I would only suggest that when you do shadows, maybe use a wide range of tones and keep building on top to the darkest hues with low opacity brushes, that way you can get some interesting contrast. Not entirely necessary, but up to you.

yeah, the burn tool is good for creating some really dramatic effects in the darkest areas, but also try using actual color for it. I also use the dodge tool for highlights but not usually on the characters themselves.. more on the hair and stuff. It just comes down to personal preference.

its got some good elements to it with the rendering, but you have to keep at it if you wanna get better. try using your sketch work as a refference for rendering, y0ou seem to lay down light really well in those. Or try combining the two. just play around till you find something you like.

Now I personally think your CGing is gorgeous; the shading is very smooth, which is definitely more than I can say for myself. x3;; The shines are beautifully done, namely in Sairius's hair, and I really like the sparkles added in there as well. =3 (Nice transition from the pink to the gold as well, looks perfect! X3) Great poses, especially on Echono. His hand positions catch my eye and really look great, and the flow and folds of the ribbon-like cloths going around his arms are exceptional. <3 And might I add that Sairius's eyes are just beautiful! @.@
I don't know what you see in this that makes you think it's bad, because I think it's just amazing. o.o Definitely worth a fave, I'll say! |3

I think the feel of glowing edges that you have given this picture is a fantastic stylistic experiment. I can't say it was entirely successful, as it doesn't quite have an impact to it, but I can see it has legs. Maybe use a starker difference betweenligth and dark tones and see how that works. The drawing is great, and I think the colouring style is something worth experimenting with if you feel you enjoy it
