The reflection is what really makes this photo for me, if I were to comment on one thing it would be the noise in the trees in the middle of the image. For me this detracts a little from the beautiful reflection and the great breaking up of the light in the upper section.
I don't know what editing software you are using, but I think I would have just lowered the black levels slightly to make the trees a true silhouette.
Other than that, a truly beautiful image.

Thanks, great critique. I used Photomatix Pro for the tone mapping. HDR processing has a tendency to accentuate noise, so that's a good note, maybe I'll go back and do some noise reduction.

The contrast of warm colors and cold colors is great!
Love this!

It was certainly an unusual scene. I'd love to get back out there this winter and find more like this, if I can.

Why thank you! I should really push myself to trudge through snow more often. Somehow, that's how I tend to find my better scenes.

The light at this place was just magical. This place has more stories waiting to be told. I hope to return next winter.

Thanks so much. It was one of those scenes where everything just came together. With all the snow we've been getting lately, I should really get out there and try more like this.

Exactly! It's not often one sees the combination happen naturally in front of them.

Thank you so much, I'm honored that you selected my photo over so many others! New England still has its charm.

Hopefully someday you can make it out here. There's no other place I'd rather be, especially in the autumn.

Thanks so much. It wasn't until right around the time that I shot this that I realized how difficult it really is to establish a sense of place in a photograph.

Exactly. I love the luminance and chrominance ranges that HDR affords. I love working with such a wide range of colors in post.
