Well, it's done. I will reitterate what I wrote in the last WIP. I have a couple projects coming up and I didn't want to dive into something too big right now, so I have been doing a couple small still life drawings lately. I thought the zippo lighter drawing was getting lonely in my gallery so I decided to draw some smokes for him to hang out with. This one was kind of fun to do. These small still life drawings are really good practice for me because it forces me to look really hard and see shapes and tones. I laughed when I was done with this one. I think it's kind of funny that I drew such a dramatic picture of a cigarette box. It's like the cigarette box is in an interogation room. It's wanted for questioning in a murder investigation.9x12 Fabriano Hotpress

Wow... what an amazing piece. There is so much more to comment on... So the question going through my mind as I was looking at the drawing and reading through the comments was (and this may seem silly, but I think it has some merit) did you look at the box from a non-smoking point of view or a smoker's point of view. But I read the above comment, which may have answered - but you may have been kidding... - just curious.

Where the hell did all the smokes go man ....? - I dig this .... we should do a show sometime - Your smoke packs and lighters next to my ashtray drawings - Will title it "Butts" and put some sexy female rear ends on the promo cards - It would be worth it to see the expressions on everyones faces as they walked through the door ........ "this isnt what we came for..." - anyways good stuff man !

It's easy to get the background smooth, but it's a little more difficult to get it consistently dark all the way up to the cigarette box. Thanks.

HE MURDERED SOMEONE!! God, this is making me mad because I should have done something like that to the drawing. I can picture the cigarette box with arms and a knife in his hand with red blood dripping onto the floor. I so wish I would have thought of this before!! Damnit!! Thank you for the comment.
