Personality: A hard-working, honest, friendly kind of guy, Mace is always happy to lend a hand to others. He enjoys keeping his hands busy, and will most often be found working on one thing or another. Usually one to take life easy, he has an optimistic outlook of the world. He’s not very book-smart, though, and his curiosity surrounding cats has gotten him in trouble more than once. He becomes easily attached to people, and once he considers himself a friend to someone, he will be very loyal to them.

History: He grew up in a poor, but happy family. Being the oldest child, he has two younger sisters and two younger brothers, and he feels responsible for taking care of them all – especially after their parents passed away five years ago. Their house is little more than a cottage their father had built with their own miniature garden, and while his younger siblings help grow food at home, he takes odd-jobs around the city for money. When he was still alive, Mace's father taught him much of what he knows about how to fight and defend himself. His mother, who was a pacifist and often spoke about wanting the war to end, instilled in him a desire for peace.
In his youth, he once attempted to go past the wall as far as he could on a dare. He was caught by a group of cats on the other side who cut his face with a knife as a warning, and he’s had the scar ever since. After that, he was afraid to go near the wall for some time, but recently his curiosity has been overpowering his old fears. He is still frightened by sharp objects near his face, though.
