FULL VIEW PLEASE
This is the second pic I have done at night. I chose this blooming tree, with amber street lights as a light source. The composition is kinda freaky. It's just a tree under the stars, but it emotes it's own beauty and large presence. The angle was limited due to houses and cars nearby,but over all I liked this angle the best. This exposure was 5 minutes with a high F-stop. Overall, this pic came out with good color, but the sky was too grainy.
Any suggestions night photographers????

As far as the sky being grainy--what I would suggest is a smaller apeture--from 3.5 to say f7.1 to f9. Use manual focus and focus on some bright object--a streetlamp or better yet, the moon to get the stars in focus. With such a large apeture like f3.5 it tends to blur the background stars and make a grainy effect in the sky.
with the smaller apeture and manual focus on infinity (if you can get it to focus to infinity that's best) you will need a longer shutter speed to get the exposure right so you'll have to try and try again in order to find what works. I'd use the shutter speed you have here as a base and add 30 seconds or a minute until you are pleased with the output.
