internal like.. stretchy membrane looking textures always.... grab my attention... like, i can't stop staring... it makes me feel so ... interesting  like (i don't mean this in a negative way at all) i can't tell if i think it's "gross" so i'm like "COOL! GROSS STUFF" XD ? or.... what?  i don't understand how i feel about textures i just know i love it because it's overwhelmingly interesting!

Yeah, I've seen the basic shape around before, but never knew the name of it before his tutorial.  I'm going to attempt this in Modo, but so far, I've only been able to follow a few of his tutorials, because the tools in Modo are a little different than Blender or 3dsmax.  We don't have the same kind of similar selection tool, which makes life a little harder, and some of the things done with modifiers need to be done with a plugin or by hand in Modo.  Peter Stammbach is a Modo guru, and he reproduced one of John's earlier tutorials, a star ball.  It took a little more time to create in Modo, but it was still possible at least.
