Description I'm not a huge fan of Resident Evil, but it's growing on me.
I love how badass the weapons are... I'm a bit of a guns girl. As opposed to a combat knife girl. Or something. Point being, I like guns. My uncle is a gun-nut, and he almost died of happiness when I asked him if he could teach me to shoot; his daughter hates guns. It's a shame he lives so far away.

Anyhow, I digress. I'm pretty happy with this set. The Beretta turned out horribly, but I like how the Mine Thrower, Shotgun and Assault Rifle turned out. I was using the pictures from residentevilfan.com, and some weren't great for reference, so I had to go to some NRA website for the ref on the assault rifle, so it's not totally like the one in the game. But that's nitpicking.

Thanks, it's one of my better pixel arsenel ones. I have another half-finished one somewhere.

I have to admit I know very little about guns, but they interest me.

Awsome, I have a few in my gallery. My personal favorite a .44 Magnum Revolver.

awesome stuff, I loved RE3's weapons, especially being able to make ammo for them. What program do you use to make pixel art?

I'm a fan of the weapons from the games too... they're a lot more fun than most of the weapons in Silent Hill, but not entirely unrealistic, like the weapons in so many other games. I especially love the acid and flame rounds.

I just use plain old MS Paint to draw any and all pixel work. I find it's much easier than using Photoshop.

Hey good-night, welcome to DA.

First, it looks like there's a problem with your preview image, it's just the deviantART logo

However, I think it's a nice pixel art. The weapons have all got really nice detail, like the handle on the magnum and the grooves on the knife.

Only thing I can see that could be improved is the shading, I think. In some of the icons I can't tell where the lightsource is, for example in the knife it looks like the handle has light coming from the top right of it, whereas the blade is lit from the bottom right.

That's nitpicking really, other than that it's very nice - but it does lack consistency, most of the objects are seen as side views, but the ammo boxes and rocket/mine launchers have different perspectives.

Overall, it's a good piece of pixelart.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the critique... it's much appreciated.

I didn't actually put in a preview image... I only ever do that for brush sets. Must be DA mucking up.

My shading is definitely something I have to work on. The whole piece was done quite quickly, and I didn't give much thought to the lighting. That said, accurate shading has never been a strength of mine.

As for the consistency, that's solely based on the way the items appear in inventory and reference pictures. I didn't take any artistic license with the angles, hence the inconsistencies; I simply used the angles portrayed in the ref pictures.

I'd wondered if that was why the objects were at different angles. In that case I'd leave it as they are
