You know...Standardbreds are such a beautiful breed. They don't get the credit they're due.

On a side note: there are seven Standardbreds boarded at the farm where I rent my apartment...they're all gorgeous...but they seriously have not been outside since September. They are turned out in the indoor arena once per day while their stalls are cleaned. It's just sad to see how anxious and wound up they are...

i completely agree... my number one goal as a photographer is to get them more recognized. if ONE more person becomes interested and adopts a standardbred, i'll be happy. they don't get nearly as much credit as they deserve. people still think they're skinny, jug-headed things. they're actually a VERY pretty breed with nice movement and brilliant, willing personalities.

and that's really sad... i hate to see horses pent up with no way to get their energy out. do they get ridden?

Oh goodness where do I begin chica?! This is such an adorable moment caught in a photograph, seriosly no body can say no to crackers cantering around. The mood is just lighthearted for that matter, and the evening sun just brings warmth to the picture!
Great depth of field, just overall fantastic picture in my opinion. You can just see the excitement in the foals eyes
