Description "And he's such an elegant fellow
And he does whatever's in line
And he says, to people concernin'
That it's just a matter of time
And he's such an elegant fellow
And he does whatever's in line..."

So here, we have a capture from "The Great Escape!" Bert has become the world famous magician Tromboni's apprentice en route to hopefully achieving his lifelong dream of becoming a magician. (How many lifelong dreams does Bert have?!) As he's setting up Tromboni's props, he starts fantasizing about what it might be like if he actually were a magician, prompting this fantasy sequence (to the tune of "Can't Trust Myself") in which he is living his dream. Here, he's bowing before a crowd of admiring fans. His dream of becoming a magician reminds me of this really obscure song by the Sweet (that's the band that did the "Ballroom Blitz", in case you didn't know), "Mr. McGallagher," a B-side of one of that band's earliest singles. It's a song about just such an aspiring young magician named McGallagher who has the same dreams Bert has and feels it's just a matter of time before he is a superstar. I love listening to really obscure musical gems...Of course, moments after this Bert almost accidentally kills himself in Tromboni's water trap...

Funny the comparisons between the Simpsons and the Raccoons; it's almost eerie. Conspiracy theories at play...

Kind of, yes, though most of them are extreme coincidences. I mean, for example, the only thing Ralph Raccoon and Ralph Wiggum have in common is their name. Pretty sure Ralph (Raccoon) has never encountered a leprechaun who told him to burn things...

No, but maybe he dreamed of him!

Bert Raccoon; has as many daydreams as Rufus from The Dreamstone (my avatar).

Great screenshot.
Speaking of Bert having life long dreams like Homer Simpson, I had noticed a few similarities between the Simpsons and the Raccoons. Though I'd call them all coincidences.

LEAD CHARACTER NAMES: Bert-Bart
CHARACTERS WITH THE SAME NAME: Lisa
BEST FRIENDS WITH GLASSES: Cedric-Milhouse
EVIL MILLIONAIRES: Cyril Sneer-Charles M. Burns
EVERGREEN PLACES: E. Forest-E. Terrace of Springfield

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Not to mention their first episodes were Christmas Specials. And they both have characters named Ralph.

I'm guessing Bert has as many "Life long dreams" as Homer Simpson!
