Hi, having an aluminum foundry puts you way ahead of the game. Perhaps you already know this but I'll say it anyway. You can easily make polyclay models of a design then create a mold to cast an aluminum piece from it. Then after you make the piece in aluminum you can have a casting foundry create a mold from your aluminum piece then cast pieces for for you in pewter, bronze, etc. Just ideas and maybe stuff you already know. I suspect there are pewter, bronze, etc casting companies in Canada who you could work with to cast your pieces in other metals.

Thanks!! So far I've only tried lost foam casting. But I hope to get better materials and a better foundry once I get enough money. Thanks!!

So as not to delay your creative process why not start now with polyclay to "perfect" your designs. Then using silicone or high polyurethane create a mold from the piece created in polyclay and cast in your aluminum foundry. Again just an idea for you.

There might be people on DA who would donate any unused PolyClay to you they have sitting around - or exchange for a finished product. Good Luck!!!

I've always wanted to make stuff like that. Do you have an tips on getting started? I've already made an aluminum foundry. And I do some basic blacksmithing.
