Description I noticed this background pony the last time I watched "The Best Night Ever". On top of bearing a striking resemblance to American Psycho's Patrick Bateman (AKA Dubs Guy), whenever we see him in the background, standing in line to see Celestia or talking to other background ponies, he always looks utterly pissed off, much like the antisocial title character of American Psycho. The exceptions are when he's standing by himself, or interacting with Spitfire (also the musical number), when he can be seen smiling.

Any thoughts or opinions? Is this dubs pony? Has this already been pointed out and I missed it? What do you think of the Equestrian Psycho?

It's worth a watch. Lots of dark humour to it.

In American Psycho, Patrick Bateman is extremely antisocial and sadistic. He frequently interjects threats into conversation, and is generally completely detached from any emotional interaction, save when people make him angry. He maintains this mix of psychotic behaviour and bizarre detachment through most of the movie, including several murders (most famously, this one .)

spoiler alert
It's revealed at the end of the movie that Bateman is schizophrenic/delusional and hallucinated or imagined almost all of his acts of violence.

I was pretty surprised when I noticed him. I think it's a pretty good resemblance.

It is, actually. So I guess Pinkie isn't alone in the psycho department then, eh?

Evidently not. A children's show can never have too many dangerous psychopaths, it seems.

You need to balance out the adorable-ness with a few psychos every now and then.

Uhm... Good god. If this takes off, an entirely new genre of grimdark, not Pinkie Pie, will shoot into space.

I always thought American Psycho was more of a bizarre dark comedy, especially because of the "Hip to be Square" scene.

In fact, someone already ponified that scene a while back.

Oh but you know people; they have a tendency to blow things entirely out of proportion. I mean, look at the MLP fandom.

Good point. Should such grimdark appear, I apologize to the general populace of the internet in advance.

Why are you apologizing? It makes for great writing.

Oh, fair enough. I know a lot of people stay away from the grimdark. "You know what assuming does."

I don't mind the well-written stuff ("The Sun is Tired" was fantastic, though I don't believe I ever finished it), but the "x character killed character y and there was blood" gets kind of old.

I was actually watching this episode to re-familiarize myself with Octavia's couple of scenes for a story I'm working on, but as soon as I saw this guy, I just kept watching for him. Maybe it's just me, but I think the resemblance, especially in personality, is pretty close.
