I think the scariest part is the coexistence of the happy thoughts and the intercontinental missile launch codes. Does nuking other continents fill her with happy thoughts?

Who said they are nuclear missiles?

Intercontinental missiles tend to be.

These are not.

Oh, well that makes it okay then.

There is no such thing as "missile shields", you could use interceptor missiles, these would be useless against the missiles launched by Abbie, as they are either cluster bombs which deploy many tiny un-interceptable bombs, supersonic projectiles with a ballistic trajectory stablished in the upper atmosphere, or deployment vehicles for remotely controlled robot bodies, which also deploy at a high altitude.

In other words, if you are the target: you are massively screwed.

I insist, these missiles have no nuclear warheads, the bunker would protect you from the cluster bombs and the ballistic projectiles, but a remotely controlled body could drill a hole on the door or hatch and then (for example) blow neuro-toxins through it, causing you to die. And that's just the least painful death you could end up having in that case.

Pfff. I PRODUCE neurotoxins. I'll be fine.

That means you'll have to be killed with more painful methods, such as decapitation, asphyxiation, incineration, lapidation, etc.

Whether or not spiders feel any pain is still up to debate.

Good, then she will have no remorse in testing new weapons with you that would be considered horrible torture if used against a human or animal that could feel pain.

You would die for science.

I'm convinced that my soul is safe with the Lord, so I'm ready to die. Are you?

If souls and god(s) do exist, have for sure Abbie's coworkers will do their best to dominate the realm in which they do; for them, death won't be an excuse to stop expanding, and since they are already dead, they will use much more reckless and profitable methods.

They can do their worst, but at the end of the world, they'll be quakin' before the creator. (if your world HAS one, that is.)

The universe in which they live does not have gods nor afterlife of any kind, but if it did Abbie's coworkers would be working on ways to exploit the way those work to become gods themselves.

Also, if the world ends, they can just go to a different one.

And if there are no other worlds, they will try to go to a different universe, or even multiverse.

by "world", the bible implies "everything"

That'd equal to universe in my story, but since traveling across different universes and multiverses is possible in my story, the end of the universe will not be a problem to them.
