Sehndra stomped down the corridor muttering to herself angrily.
" He did that deliberately!" She fumed . "And i fell for it like an idiot , he just wanted to get rid of me so he didn't have to tell me his plans! Infuriating! "
Ever since she had told him about Arcadia he had been on edge,distracted,not at all the confident and capable man who had led her through the wastes . She was sure that whatever his plan was it would fail because he wasn't thinking clearly enough. She wanted to help, she would do anything , absolutely anything to see Crefax defeated , she wanted to watch as that evil man took his final breath!
What was he hiding , she wondered , it had something to do with the increasingly frequent wasteland patrols . Of course there was the possibility of this hide-out being discovered , yet there was more to it than that . What was it that Crefax was searching for in the wastes ? Not a place , that's what Kayde had said , then what.....it suddenly struck her ! It had been staring her in the face this whole time ! She realised that she had beaten Crefax to the prize , but the real truth of it was still beyond her reach.
A cunning expression flicked across her face , now she had plans of her own. She retraced her steps back to the access shaft , after finding a place of concealment all she had to do was wait .

Hours passed by but eventually her patience paid off . Lucas arrived to take over sentry duty on the observation platform and it didn't take long before Kayde climbed down.
He gazed furtively around , he didn't notice Sehndra in her hiding place , he started walking purposefully, swiftly , as if there was somewhere he needed to be . She followed behind , silently , stealthily , until he reached his bedroom . He ducked in quickly , retreived a a large backpack full of supplies , then came back out again . He made his way to the stairs that led to the sub-basements . He wore his long coat over his jacket ,the hood pulled over his head , it fluttered and flapped around him as he continued on his way downwards and onwards .
She followed him down a maze of corridors ,some opened out into much larger areas , and she guessed that this must be where the water storage and power generator must be . The whole place was icily cold and eerily quiet exept for the thumping of Kayde's heavy boots on the stone floor and the frantic thundering of Sehndra's heart . For some reason she was beggining to feel quite tense and nervous , it would be easy to get lost in this labyrinth , but there was more to it than that . Was it , perhaps that this place would soon lose it's protector forever.
She slowed her pace behind him as he entered a long tunnel , a freezing draught chilling her to the bone . He ran to the end of the tunnel , slipped his back off , and was about to unlock an old access door when Sehndra emerged from the shadows.
" Where are you going ? " She enquired , her voice not quite as forcefull as she'd wanted it to be .
" Shit!! " He exclaimed loudly, her sudden appearence had almost frightened him to death . "I'm going scavenging . " He replied as casually as he could .
"In the middle of the night ? " She came towards him , her feet made no sound despite the metal heels of her armoured ankle boots . " You are taking a great many provisions . " She indicated to the overstuffed backpack .
" Yeah , well it's dangerous out there.......i need ..stuff.."
" Liar !! " She shouted . " Why don't you come right out and say it ! You are leaving , are you not ? "
"Yes ."
" You are leaving because Arcadia is not a place , but a person ! You are Arcadia , is that your call sign or something? "
" I told you, " he sighed , " the answer won't do you any good . You did well to follow me though i'm impressed ! " His voice was as cold as the air around him .
" I did tell you that i am extremely well trained , but that is beside the point ! What i want to know is , are you running away like a coward , or are you trying to be noble by leading the patrols away from this place ? I know it's you they are after , just tell me why ?! "
"You want to know why !! " He roared , grabbing her arms roughly and throwing her against the wall , holding her there in a vice-like grip . " Let me introduce myself , " he barked , through clenched teeth , " i'm Arcadian Crefax , Ludo is my father ! Are you satisfied now !! " He relaxed his grip on her and let her feet touch the floor .
" BASTARD!!!" She screamed at him , slugging him in the mouth with tightly clenched and angry fist . " That is for being the child of that monster ! " She caught him again with another well timed punch as he was wiping blood from his lip . Her second punch sent him reeling " And that is for running away " She panted , she kept on at him , forcing his back up against the wall . " You STUPID, STUPID ,STUPID MAN!! "She yelled , each word punctuated by a punch to the chest , they were feeble efforts and he stood there taking every one . " Don't you know that he is going to have you killed !! Do you want to get caught ? Is that your brilliant plan !? "
" Yes . "
" Is that all you can say for yourself ! He's going to DESTROY you , and what good will that serve ,you dead ,him alive !! Where's the sense in it ?! " She was shaking with fear and frustration . " There has to be another way ! "
" There isn't ." He pushed her aside with such force that she was thrown to the floor . " I've made up my mind , i'm going home . "

" If you stay you may use my body however you wish . " She whispered seduclively . She had no actual knowlege of such things , her only experience of intimacy had been Ludo Crefax's ghastly touch , her only advice on what men desired had come from her suicidal and man-hating mother .
"What...? " He stared at her in stunned surprise . He knew she hated to be touched , surely she couldn't be serious . But to prove her point she took hold of her glittering black top and pulled it over her head , casting it aside .
His eyes widened at the lovely sight that greeted his eyes , the soft black lace that barely covered or restrained her lucious , firm breasts , her creamy skin that seemed to shimmer in in the twighlight of the gloomy tunnel . He was dazed by it , it had been a long time since he had felt a woman's soft embrace , in fact he had been a seventeen year old boy in the palace of his father .He was not without experience , part of his training had been in how to bring a woman under his control , Crefax had wanted to mould his child in his own image , but sadly it had failed .
She began to unfasten the straps of his jacket , her fingers trembled , not only with the cold but also with nervousness , she could feel the tension building between them . His fingers warmed her skin as they traced the soft curves of her athletic body , she held her breath , her fear growing stronger , but mixing with desire . His touch was not as unpleasant as she thought it would be and she pressed closer to him allowing his hands to stroke teasingly down her back , and then down further .
" Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked , knowing that it would soon be too late to turn back . " I mean..this is a pretty dirty , horrilble place for..."
" I doesn't matter , " she purred alluringly , " i would be expected to do much worse things for your father ."
"WHAT " His eyes had been closing , entranced by her seduction , but now they were wide open with fury . " You'd compare me to that evil bastard !! " He caught hold of her roughly and slapped her face , not hard , but enough to make his point . " Put your clothes back on you make me sick !! " He began to do his jacket back up as if nothing had happened .
She had never meant to say something so terrible , it had just slipped out and now everything was worse than before . She was was shocked and hurt , but still unable to cry .
" You're not still going to leave are you !" The panic rose in her voice as she put her top back on , smoothing it down over her chest .
" You're damn right i am ! " He shouted back at her , angry and very frustrated .
" But you can't , you are the protector of this place , you are all these people have ! You must not desert them , i am begging you . Why are you in such a hurry to die !? "
" Why ? Because i deserve it ! Because i'm a killer , a murdrer just like my father ! "
