Description While the 3rd and 7th Doctors have a little talk with the 9th Doctor about some interesting choices he's made recently, the 6th Doctor (who's somewhere between Revelation of the Daleks and Trial of a Time Lord part 1 shows up in time to be indignant, (*gasp*, no!) and the 1st Doctor arrives in time to start making sense of it all.

Incidently, the 1st Doctor has been plucked from a time before the original 1963 pilot episode An Unearthly Child.

I have a question for you, and I want you to think about it seriously before you answer.

Why are you so awesome?

These are absolutely killing me with the lulz. Ace and Seven are my personal favorites, but I love what you've done with all of them. Five made me smile, Six's screaming made me sporfle, and One's *thump thump thump* had me screeching with laughter. Can't wait for updates!

BTW, if you would like someone to color these (assuming you don't want to yourself), I love to color and would gladly do.

Sure, if you like. Let me see what you can do with it!

Do you need a colour guide? I've selected my Doctors from specific periods and they've got specific colour schemes. I'm a pedantic geek.

Oh, I sympathize fully. A color guide would be great! Send it along and I'll get crackin'.

I was directed here from the Livejournal community doctorwho and I have to say I nearly went into gales of laughter (but I have to keep it hush-hush as I finish my psychology readings). A lovely break from all the Freudian theories, personalities and 90-page chapters. I love Eight's expression in the 6th panel. Six's entrance nearly made me laugh out loud.

I'm in love with how well you've pulled off the cartoony-realism style. It's really difficult to do; I've tried it and nearly given up in frustration a couple times while doodling WHO art (I haven't updated my DA account in a long time and most of the art is old and different from my current style. I'm hoping that once my week of consecutive papers and such ends, I'll produce some works and submit them )

To finish, fantastic job so far and keep it up. I look forward to seeing more of your work! (Do you mind if I devwatch you?)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad everyone's enjoying this thing. I should probably join the LJ community, being an LJ user myself.

Incidently, that's 7, not 8. 8 hasn't shown up yet.

I've been wanting to do this cartoon for a loong loong time, and it's only been the success of one of my other webcomics that's made me realize I CAN do this thing. I don't HAVE to clean it. Even if it would be nice... I just don't have the patience.

Oh woops! Perfect example of where I'm thinking faster than I'm typing. I did in fact mean Seven (And I knew it was Seven the whole time, just didn't work out that way when I typed out my first comment it seems)

You know what? You're doing an excellent job with this and it's usually nice to read a comic (with legible text) that's not inked but is sketched clear enough that it's not just a messy sketch, but a clean finished-looking one. There's just something about sketched comics that make them fun to read. Oh and trust me, you're not alone in the "I don't have the patience to ink" camp.

I shall definitely be following this

Thanks for the nice words!

I got linked to this from the Livejournal community doctorwho and I must admit it's a secret hope of mine that RTD will see the light and make all the Doctors meet each other. :-D

In terms of the artwork, it's awesome, the little cartoons are sweet and all different from each other.

I'm looking forward to more.

Also, I'm not familiar with deviant art, is there any way I can subscribe so I see when you update?

Gorpo In reply to sgraystone [2007-03-04 19:57:15 +0000 UTC]

That'd take a bit of a miracle. Sean Pertwee could pull of a good 3rd Doctor replacement, but they'd have to recast 1(again!) and 2... and old Tom's not up to his Doctor Whoing anymore, alas. Colin Baker's changed A LOT since those days. I think Peter Davison could still do it. Sylvester McCoy woud be awsome. But I'd be happy with 7, 8, 9 and 10 interaction. The Four Doctors?

Especially ones with Ace in them.

Gorpo In reply to AprilEchidna [2007-03-04 14:33:18 +0000 UTC]

I wholeheartedly encourage that.
7th Doctor and Ace are VERY watchable. Just.. their stories don't make much (in some cases, ANY) sense.

Best ones are:
Time and the Rani -the "regeneration". Oy.

Ghostlight

Paradise TowersRed Kangs are best.

Dragonfire if for no other reason then the Doctor's wonderful parting speech to Mel.
"...Think about me when you're living your life one day after another, all in a neat pattern. Think the homeless travellor in his old Police Box, with days like crazy paving..."

Remembrance of the Daleks DALEKS DALEKS DALEKS!!!

The Curse of Fenric Vampires!

Battlefield Merlin? BRIGADIER!!! WOO!

Survival Ahhh, the MASTER! And the Doctor's perfect final words of the original series.
(Spoken as the Doctor puts his arm around Ace's shoulder and leads her back to the TARDIS)
"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep and the rivers dream, people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do."
-----
Ones to avoid:
The Happiness Patrol Oh MAN!

The Greatest Show in the Galaxy Yeah, we get it. Clowns are bad.

Silver Nemesis Remembrance retread with Cybermen. REALLY WEIRD VILLAINS... Nazis? What the HELL is going on? Ace kills Cybermen by slingshotting gold coins into their chests. *rolls eyes*

Ohh, I've read the final speech in survival, it sounds amazing. i so need to watch some 7 D= And hey, it's a show about a guy who has a police box that travels in time. THAT doesn't make sense! XD

Gorpo In reply to AprilEchidna [2007-03-04 18:00:58 +0000 UTC]

Heh, okay.... admitting that the premise is a bit of a stretch... at least you can accept and follow that.

But try this: Tom Baker episode The Seeds of Doom: Scientists in the Antarctic find some frozen seeds of space plants that wake up and start killing off humans to take over the world. Simple. I get it.

Sylvester McCoy episode Ghostlight: The Doctor takes Ace to an old victorian house she burned down 100 years later as a child, but its sort of haunted by aliens, one of which is sort of a light energy being that's trying to catalog all the lifeforms in the universe, but they keep changing so he has to wipe them all out and start again, his shipmates have rebelled but gone mad and think they're regular servants and are thinking of killing off the Queen of England, meanwhile a missing explorer turns up in a drawer and walks around spouting nonsense to all who'll listen about his exploits in South Africa where he's never actually been, Ace puts on man's clothes and the Doctor dodges priests and policement who are coming around to investigate a murder. Aliens keep extra skins in the basement which also turns out to be a spaceship which takes off and blows up the house.

Thanks! Ace is awsome. Rose.... well, she's a cutey but a REAL baby! Doctor should have dropped her off the moment she started getting bitchy and posessive.

"Doctor.. did you LOOK at that other female creature????"

'Course, the silly Doc's not doing so well in that direction either. Here's hoping his romancing-the-companion days are dropping. Honestly, man well well into his 1000's should really not be getting that involved with a 20+ yr old who won't live long enough to see his next birthday. It's a little bit sick.

Time to bring back Romana. The boy needs a girlfriend.

I want to sea Peri speak. The only "American" who could use "Y'all" and "aboot" in the same sentence, and possibly throw in a few "Begorrah"s and "Mate"s when she was feeling particularly inspired.

Yeah, I suppose I am going to have to have that squawky crow open her gob at some point. *sigh* Maybe I should have gone with Mel... *shudder* Nah..

I didn't really pay too close attention to her shaky accent. I was too distracted by her stuttering false starts "I...i...e...gg....b-b.... D-D-D-D-DAAWWWWCTOOOOOOR!!" and her shrill, nails-on-chalkboard voice. Not to mention the fact that her mouth looked like it was hinged just below each ear.

Even her mammoth, barely contained breasts couldnt' keep me from loathing her.

Reinder In reply to Gorpo [2007-03-04 12:44:52 +0000 UTC]

I've been watching the Sixth Doctor series lately. It's hard going - his first season is about as enjoyable as Vogon poetry. The second was slightly better but not much better. At least the lead actors weren't quite as loathsome due to improved writing of the characters.

Her chest was a marvel to behold, though. And it made a difference - I never made it through Mark of the Rani because her gown in that one concealed the mammoth mammaries, rendering the whole thing unwatchable (even though that story was largely shot on film and on location, which should normally count for something...

Anyway, plenty of parody fodder in that character. AND Mel was definitely worse, though that wasn't entirely the actress's fault. Say what you will about Bonnie Langford's acting, but there were things they made her do, like pretending that that ghastly German Democratic Republic hotel swimming pool in "Paradise Towers" was beautiful and made the trip all worthwhile. Helen Mirren wouldn't have been able to make that work.

*blink* Why is everyone so ashamed of #8? He'd have made a wonderful continuing Doctor. It's too bad they didn't use him for the series, honestly. Nothing against Eccleston, he did a great job, but it's a waste of a life to have him in it just the once.

What I'm hoping is that they do a flashback at somepoint, or maybe one of these multi-Doctor crosses and bring him back as a guest at least.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gorpo In reply to Raeklore [2007-03-03 15:02:15 +0000 UTC]

No worries.
Peter Cushing played a dotty Human scientist who invented a time machine. In both of his films, they used scripts from the first 2 Dalek episodes. He is, essentially, an alternative to the 1st Doctor.

(Geek alert: I ran a Doctor Who RPG where all the players were incarnations of the Doctor. I included alternative Doctors, Peter Cushing as Alt.1, an alt.4th Doctor from the stage play: The Seven Keys to Doomsday, an alternate 6th Doctor from when Jon Pertwee got sick in The Ultimate Adventure stage play, etc etc. They weren't taking the Daleks seriously, openly mocking them and disobeying them childishly in front of the gun stick. So the Daleks shot Doctor alt.1 and all the subsequent alt Doctors disappeared. Players out of the game. That learned 'em. The TV Doctors were a lot more respectful after that.)
