Another quickie from the sketchbook. For the heck of it I experimented with a looser, more exaggerated comic look. angular design and momentum of form, kinda. Anatomy Shmatomy. I'd like to confess this is the first blonde girl I've ever done, probably the last. It almost feels morally wrong, coming from a mixed ethnic backround myself, to promote blue-eyed blonde white people any further in mainstream.Related content

nothing wrong with blondes... true, it is idealised... but many hollywood stars these days are going brunette..... being blonde is no better than being anything else.. I like it a lot... ummm wowo if that is quick, I wanna see your long ones!! i love this style... very cool!!

The colors. The pose. THE LARGE ROD STICKING OUT OF HER BELLY BUTTON. My god, man, she's beautiful. She's got this look of straight bad-ass'ness about her, yet not the kind that would go around kicking babies, if you know what I mean.
And this is the first blonde you've ever drawn/colored? That's so funny! :0 I've only ever dated one blond in my life. He wanted to be on Broadway. He's married now but probably in the closet. And yes, that was all apropos to nothing. Except the former comment.

She may be blonde, but she doesn't look mainstream. She's unique. One thing you might think about concerning this is that body language, figure, and facial shape can be generic as well, and you've made her unique in all these things. She's not a 'dumb' blonde or a Pamela Anderson type- she's a person who happens to have blonde hair. :3 You didn't promote anything here but indiviuality.

I wish my brain farts smelled this sweet... that sounds disgusting. Anyway, though blondes are a little overdone (alot overdone) I don't think you should be against doing them at all, though maybe she doesn't have to be a busty beauty. There are plenty of ugly blondes in the world. Variety is the spice of life and an artist should never shut a door on anything when it comes to the creative process, even if we are choking on the blonde haired blue eyed people that are being shoved down our throat on a continual basis by that evil being known simply as pop culture.

It's not a moral issue -- the racial background of your characters -- unless you make it one. In my mind, you should make characters that represent the environment you are trying to convey. I think you do a great job with your drawing. I see a lot of asian and mestizo influences in your characters. You do them very well. But not doing regular caucasians because, due to your mixed heritage, you feel it is "wrong" -- what does your background have to do with it? Not drawing caucasians simply because you're not caucasian -- that may be a moral issue. Being able to draw characters of many/all racial backgrounds is a mark of excellence in character artists. Expand yourself. Even Shirow Masamune drew occasionally some some black characters.

OH, I get it--as long as the girl's got BLUE hair like in your avatar, the blue eyes are okay, right?
My hair was blue 20 years ago, but I'm a natural (now dark shade of) blonde that really has nothing to do with the mainstream. Just so you know. I stand on the bank next to the stream and throw rocks at it every once in a while, but other that, I pretty much leave it alone...
I suppose I COULD go back to dyeing my hair again, but I've already had pretty much every color available....

great pic but screw the politics mon ami.... we're artist...color ain't nothin but a tool we use and it don't apply to skins. Draw what you're happy with an don't worry about promoting a thing.

Its just as discriminatory to say that theres too many blondes as to draw only blonds.

Might be a mainstream topic, but it's still great! Good to see a blonde design that's both attractive yet not thoroughly anorexic and with a modest breast size.
