Description This Panzer-IV/70(V) was captured by U.S. Troops and later transferred to Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland, USA. Due to the lack of paint paint toward the end of the war the Germans were forced to use what was available to them for paint schemes resulting in some unusual camouflage patterns. This is an example of one such vehicle; it is apparent that all the colors used have been watered down with white paint - the base coat probably yellow brown (RAL8020) or possibly desert yellow (RAL8000) has crudely cross hatched light green (RAL7008) bands hand painted across the entire vehicle. Odd cream colored blobs have been added over both the base coat and the green bands in what appears to be a very crude attempt at a late war "ambush" pattern. The vehicle's only markings consist of two balkankreuz stenciled on the superstructure sides.
