Here is the first reference image from my recent collaboration original animation with J-Mi & Midi-D for the track "Cyborgs (In Space)".
These designs both represent the memory forms of the characters. A lot of people seemed to miss that the piece is about human identity. The guy in this is actually the girl and the girl is actually just a memory. Oh well! A lot of this animation is about identity, or what actually makes us human. I won't go too in depth with it, but I kind of wanted to tell a reverse damsel in distress story.
The memory form of the girl in this is supposed to look tattered, as if she has been damaged by the corruption going on with the guy. The girl's disguise as the guy is based on a past memory as well, which is why the suit looks similar to the girls, vs their real selves.
