And yes, a great watch indeed, had no idea about that rivalry either until a few weeks ago when i stumbled upon that documentary and damn i enjoyed it

Yeah you cannot but wonder about these two icons!  Especially after the wonderful Ed Wood film starring Johnny Depp.  I always felt sorry for Bela who went on to only be a bit player in most films.  It was a double blow to Universal when Lugosi turned down the role of monster and the turn around and film the minor film White Zombie.  I read somewhere that broke his contract with Universal.  Someone may correct me but Lugosi's career started that downward spiral shortly after.  He would take any role given to him just stay working.

They are considered the giants of the golden age of horror cinema, but this documentary makes them human, it takes the monster away and shows us the human side, the cinematographic and human struggles that they endured throughout their career and their need to expand their artistic horizons, it was incredibly interesting! and it may be time to binge watch the classics once again
