Yes, I'm aware I'm suicidal.It really annoys me when I see everybody and their grandma obsess over Dirk and Jake as a couple. The fact that almost every person in the Homestuck fandom is flipping the fuck out and just being absolutely obnoxious with it is a little too much for me since I honestly don’t like JakexDirk. People seem to forget about the two other girls who seem to be just as crazy about Jake as Dirk is, Jane and Roxy, and also the girl that Jake has his eyes on, Aranea. It may sound a bit hypocritical of me to say this, because I'm a yaoi fan girl, but oh my god this is just too much. All this Jake/Dirk is actually making me want to puke.I understand people have the right to post what they want, and people have the right to ship what they ship, but I guarantee if Dirk was a girl, the DirkJake fandom would be much more divided than it is right now. Think about it. If there were lots of posts about JanexJake or RoxyxJake or JakexAranea, I wouldn’t be complaining one bit. The fact that there is a girl who has such a crush on Jake that she went so far to take his diary, and yet when I look up “Jake Roxy” and I don’t find one pic of them without the other 2 alpha kids in there, is really sad. People are so caught up with the fact that there is a possibly canon homosexual couple in homestuck that everything I see is DirkJake and everyone else that likes Jake or someone who Jake likes is pushed away. It's sad and frustrating and I'm about to go fucking insane.
I posted this to gather up people who share the same thoughts as me, and know there is a little hope for the Homestuck fandom.
Just wanted to get this out.

I don't like DirkJake either.
In fact, I prefer Dirk or Jake with ANYONE except each other.
Though, my original favorite would be DirkRoxy, but I'm fine
with anything that isn't DirkJake. Just basically anything.
And Jake is my favorite so I ship him with literally everyone except Dirk.
I think my favorite at the moment might be either CroJake or EriJake,
buuuut... Aranea/Jake and Porrim/Jake are both excellent and so is JakeRoxy.

I was never a fan, either, mostly because my headcanon Dirk is aro-ace and Jake goes for either of the other Alpha girls or Calliope. Unless I find fanart that's humorous and they're involved, then I can make a temporary pass for that.

In two ways, actually.
Once I saw a comic on Facebook which was Jake's reactions to people's negative comments about him.
One of the things that was said was "People only like him because of Dirk and their 'OTP'" (And back then Jake was my favorite Alpha kid) and that kinda ruined me..
The other way is because people hate on Jane, my current favorite alpha kid, because "she gets in the way of the precious yaoiz" and that's just unacceptable.
The really sad thing is, DirkJake used to be my OTP..

I agree with this stamp - even thought Jake kissed Dirk's severed head, it doesn't make me like the ship any more than I do. I prefer Jake/Jane and Dirk/Roxy.

You can't just tell people not to ship it. And even though you say people can ship what they what, youre clearly saying the opposite in the rest of the text. I adore Jane, and i ship DirkJake. I'm not saying everybody who ships dirkjake love her, but you can't just stereotype people like that. I know how it feels when the rest of the fandom ship a ship i don't like, but i don't bitch about, and tell them they should ship what i ship. 'If you don't like it don't look at it' may sound stupid, but it's the only way, just because you hate if and bitch about. It's not gonna make people love it less. It may even make them love it more. Just because you don't ship a popular ship doesn't make you special or cool. I think what i hate about this the most is that you say 'people can ship what they what' but you don't even mean it.

I don't hate it, but I find it incredibly boring, and it saddens me how a lot of other Jake ships and Dirk ships have almost no art for them because everyone is too busy shipping DirkJake. D:

I actually really like that ship too! I've kinda been deciding between it and Aranea with Meenah, but I'm really starting to like Jake with Aranea. And I also sort of ship Dirk with Jane(Although, I do ship a few other Dirk ships and Jane ships), and while there is some art for it, there really doesn't seem to be a lot, especially if you compare it to DirkJake.

DirkJake is WAY more overrated than the pairings you mentioned, but yes , I understand where you're coming from. Unlike DirkJake, JohnDave and KarkatJohn doesn't cause a character to be hated. DirkJake causes Jane to be hated.

Oh my god, you do NOT know how much this stamp is needed. I despise Dirk/Jake, it just pushes away the other potential characters (aka THE GIRLS) these two could be shipped with. It's because of this pairing that poor Jane gets so much hate. I'm a huge supporter of Jane/Jake and Dirk/Roxy, and I honestly wouldn't mind if the comic went towards Jane/Dirk or Roxy/Jake. But Dirk/Jake is just awful to me. I usually don't care that much about these ships, but it's starting to be annoying. Of course, this is coming from someone who ships some very unpopular/cracky pairings, so yeah. Plus it makes me sad that the pairing the comic does seem to be going towards (Jane/Jake) is being completely ignored/despised. I don't mind gay pairings (I'm a huge Gamkar shipper myself), but Dirk/Jake fans tend to take things too far. 8\

Can I just say how grateful I am for this stamp?
Dirk/Jake fans are one of the most annoying shippers in the entire fandom, and when people don't like that ship, they go all crazy on them. There's this chick on tumblr who I used to follow, and she kept posting Jake/Dirk smut. I politely asked her (anonymously) to tag it, because it made me uncomfortable and it wasn't something I needed to see at 2:00 in the morning, but she didn't stop, she didn't even reply to the message. I no longer follow her. It just angers me that two guys can't be best friends without having a romantic relationship. Like John and Dave. They're just best bros who mess with each other, not star crossed lovers.
NOTE TO READERS: I am aware that some dirk jake shippers may be very polite and nice about it, I just have yet to meet one. I'm not trying to bash you, I'm just speaking my mind.
