Looking through thick magazinesRunning my finger down the pages
Admiring the pretty faces
Staring at the perfectly curved bodies
The sparkling eyes, the luscious lips
Gorgeous hair, expensive clothes
I flip through the pages
Wishing more and more
To look like the people
On those forlorn pages
Tears stroll down my cheek
As pain and anger rip through me
Why couldn’t I have been born like them
And grow to be beautiful
I tear the pages out angrily
Wanting to never see them again
They only taunted me
With glamour and charm
…The things I’d never get
